Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are the best ones I really feel. Have them anytime! Be it with coffee, tea or just like that. The best part of chocolate chips is that they do not stay solid or melt when we bake them. They just stay in a middle state where they are just soft and melt in your mouth. These cookies can be made chewy or crispy, its your wish how you want then to be. A wonderful comfort food so go bake 'em in no time. :D

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4th cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 and 1/4 cup chocolate chips

Method

  1. In a large bowl , mix the flour and baking powder.
  2. In a separate bowl , cream the butter and sugar , then add the eggs , one at a time , mixing well after each addition.
  3. Next, stir in the vanilla extract and gradually stir in the flour mixture until well combined.
  4. Add the chips and stir again. For chewy cookies , refrigerate the dough for 2 hours or overnight.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Grease the baking tray with little butter or just line it with butter paper.
  6. With a spoon , pour spoonful of cookie batter at a distance of 3 inches from each other on the tray. Bake for 10 - 12 minutes or until light brown.
  7. Cool for 2 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack and cool completely.

Note*
*Creaming is mixing or beating with the butter with sugar until it becomes light and fluffy and increased in volume.
*You can increase or decrease the amount of chocolate chips and sugar if you want after the first trial.
