Chocolate Kulfi Scoops

A frozen dairy dessert from indian subcontinent is what kulfi actually is. Its denser and creamier than you regular ice cream. Hence tastes different and pretty good! Its usally made of flavourings popular in the indian continent i.e,  pistachio, rose, saffron, cardamom.
So here I have the recipe of the basic indian kulfi which is chocolate flavoured with the addition on compound chocolate.  So you need a few infredients and you are all set to make it.

Ingredients:

  • 500ml full cream milk
  • 3 tsp cornflour dissolved in 2-3tsp water
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 50 gms khoya
  • 50-60 gms chocolate compund

Method:

1. In a pan , add milk , boil and then reduce almost to half.
2. Add cornflour dissolved in
to the milk and stir a little.
3. Add sugar and reduce to half yet again.
4. Dissolve khoya in few tbsps of milk from the pan and then add all of it to the same pan and stir.
5. Add chocolate compound at the end and keep stirring until dissolved.
6. Take the pan off the heat and cool for a while. Keep stirring in between to avoid fat layer formation on top.
7. Once at room tempature , freeze for 6-7 hours in an air tight square or rectangular container. Scoop out and serve in a bowl once frozen. (If you have kulfi moulds, nothing better than that.)

Note:
*To avoid formation of ice crystals I would suggest you to use kulfi moulds.
*You can increase or decrease the amount of chocolate to taste.
