Chocolate cassata pudding






This recipe is for the mom's , who are looking for a easy dessert recipe for a fancy dinner  they have to prep for. This is simple custard dish. So, yes, you have to get  a pack of custard powder, cooking chocolate , cream and a loaf of bread, from the market, and you are ready to start of with your dessert. I can assure you this basic custard dessert with sweet fruits between its layers , your dinner will be a hit and the dessert bit, will be a treat for all.

Ingredients:


  • 250 ml Milk
  • 2 tbsp custard powder
  • 2.5-3 tbsps of sugar ( or acc to taste)
  • 6-7 slices of white bread  (edges cut out, sliced in quaters)
  • 6 tbsp of whipped cream
  • 100gms chocolate compound
  • 75ml fresh cream
  • A can of Tinned fruits or chopped fruits (of your choice)


Method:

1. Bring the milk to boil in a pan. Add custard powder and sugar and mix on simmer. Stir until slightly thick, then remove from heat and leave to cool it down.
2. Churn the custard once cooled down with 2-3 tbsp of whipped cream. Keep aisde.
3. Make chocolate ganache by heating fresh cream (dont let it boil) and adding it to chopped chocolate over double boiler.
4. When chocolate has completely melted its time to get your chopped fruits/tin of fruits and bread cut in quaters to assemble the dessert.
5. In a deep square or rectangular dish start layers the dessert up. Thats how the layers should go:
first, fourth layer and seventh layer - custard
second and fifth layer - bread coated in chocolate ganache
third and sixth layer - fruits
6. Drizzle some chocolate ganace on top and pipe some whipped cream for garnish and chill and refregerator for a few hours before serving.
