Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4th cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 and 1/4 cup chocolate chips
Method
- In a large bowl , mix the flour and baking powder.
- In a separate bowl , cream the butter and sugar , then add the eggs , one at a time , mixing well after each addition.
- Next, stir in the vanilla extract and gradually stir in the flour mixture until well combined.
- Add the chips and stir again. For chewy cookies , refrigerate the dough for 2 hours or overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. Grease the baking tray with little butter or just line it with butter paper.
- With a spoon , pour spoonful of cookie batter at a distance of 3 inches from each other on the tray. Bake for 10 - 12 minutes or until light brown.
- Cool for 2 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack and cool completely.
Note*
*Creaming is mixing or beating with the butter with sugar until it becomes light and fluffy and increased in volume.
*You can increase or decrease the amount of chocolate chips and sugar if you want after the first trial.
