Mango Sorbet
Its summertime! AND everyone loves mango as well as something icy cold to have. So I thought of making a mango sorbet! Well to a basic mango sorbet recipe I added quite a few flavours myself which make the sorbet taste a little better and brings out the flavour of the mango too.
Few steps and few hours of waiting and you will end up with a scoop creamy mango sorbet for dessert!
Ingredients:
- 2 large mangoes
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 1/4 cup water
- 1 egg white
- 4-5 mint leaves
- Juice of half a lemon
- Pinch of salt
Method:
- In a sauce pan add sugar and water and simmer water until sugar dissolves in it.
- Bring water to boil once sugar gets dissolved and boil for 5 minutes (do not stir). Remove from heat and let it cool.
- Puree mango flesh in a food processor.
- Add sugar syrup, chopped mint leaves ,juice of half a lemon and pinch of salt and pulse the puree twice or thrice in the processor.Transfer to a square dish , cover with plastic wrap and slip intothe freezer for half an hour,
- Beat egg white to soft peaks and fold in frozen mango mix well.
- Cover again. Slip in freezer for about 2-3 hours.
- When almost frozen , run through the food processor once again until smooth, Then transfer to the dish , cover again and slip into the freezer for another 3 hours or until firm.
- Once firm, scoop out with a ice cream or melon scoop and serve!
