Chocolate fondant

I was always tempted and fascinated by choco lava cakes which ooze out chocolate from the center. So here I go baking one of those!  So a chocolate fondant/molten chocolate cake/choco lava cake  is super easy to make but you only need to be patient enough to have it, because the recipe does ask for you to wait for a few hours before you savor its molten chocolate center. Prep , wait and then savor this with a scoop of vanilla icecream :D Ingredients: 250 gm dark chocolate 270 gm butter  8 eggs 180 gms caster sugar 2 cups flour 2 tsp baking powder 4 tbsp cocoa powder Method:  Melt chocolate and butter over a double boiler or your microwave oven and set aside to cool. In another bowl whisk eggs and sugar until thick and foamy. Whisk in flour , baking powder , cocoa and melted chocolate and butter mix in. Refrigerate upto 24 hours, Preheat oven to 200C and grease 4 ramekins ( I used cupcake moulds , due my unavailability of ramekins)  and fill them up with the

Mango Sorbet

Image
Its summertime! AND everyone loves mango as well as something icy cold to have. So I thought of making a mango sorbet! Well to a basic mango sorbet recipe I added quite a few flavours myself which make the sorbet taste a little better and brings out the flavour of the mango too. Few steps and few hours of waiting and you will end up with a scoop creamy mango sorbet for dessert! Ingredients: 2 large mangoes 1/2 cup sugar 1 1/4 cup water 1 egg white 4-5 mint leaves Juice of half a lemon Pinch of salt Method: In a sauce pan add sugar and water and simmer water until sugar dissolves in it. Bring water to boil once sugar gets dissolved and boil for 5 minutes (do not stir). Remove from heat and let it cool. Puree mango flesh in a food processor. Add sugar syrup, chopped mint leaves ,juice of half a lemon and pinch of salt and pulse the puree twice or thrice in the processor.Transfer to a square dish , cover with plastic wrap and slip intothe freezer for half

Pizza

Well a friend of mine wanted to have something cheesy and spicy like a pizza ,so i thought instead of him going out and having it, why not i make it at home. People usually think its a biggie to actually make the pizza dough for its base, well let me tell you making it is even easier than making the dough of the bread rolls that I posted earlier. Its just kneading and leaving it to rise for about 2-3 hours! A lot of people who had the pizza I made asked me whether I need to bake the base separately first? Which you actually dont have to do! Within 15-20 mins your whole pizza is baked and ready to eat! I didnt go for the making of sauce myself just because I love the pizza topping i have at home! So telling you that its no fuss to bake a pizza at home from the scratch I thought of writing a post on it too. P.s. for all the health conscious and nutritious food seekers, this dough has whole wheat flour used in it too. So its healthier and more filling! Ingredients:   (makes

2 Way Chocolate and Coffee Caramel Tarts

Image
For a long time now,for my love of coffee and chocolate I  have been  thinking of making something with both the flavours. So, tarts were the basis of my idea and their fillings were combination of chocolate ganache done two ways - baked and chilled - and coffee caramel sauce which I made by adding coffee to the basic caramel sauce recipe. So even though to arrive at the very dish there are a few components you have to make and assemble but they are pretty simple and assembling them and coming to cherishing their taste wont take much time either. So try your hand this and I am sure you will love it :D Ingredients: For Short Crust Pastry: 100gm flour 50gm chilled butter, cut into cubes 30gm powdered sugar 1 egg For Baked chocolate filling: 50gm chocolate compound 30ml fresh cream 25gm butter 1 egg For Chocolate ganache: 100gm chocolate compound 75ml fresh cream 50gm butter For Coffee caramel sauce: 3/4th cup granulated sugar 2 Tbsp of w
